Pottery Lane Hayloft is a  beautiful, cosy 1-bedroom Georgian stone barn in the grounds of an Edwardian farmstead featuring views over rural North Yorkshire. Just 3 miles from Ripon, peacefully tucked away down country lanes, Pottery Lane Hayloft has been immaculately renovated in 2023 to a luxurious standard, paying respect to original features like the barn A frame beams and decorated throughout in subtle ‘Little Greene’ colours. The stone heated flooring and new bathroom add to the cosy charm along with the most sumptuous bed ensuring you will enjoy a perfect Yorkshire Sunday lie in. The Hayloft has an enclosed small fenced garden within a 15 acre farmstead, a stunning wooden outbuilding has a private hot tub with views over the fields and the donkeys.

We are located in-between the villages of Bishop Monkton & Littlethorpe, just minutes from the city of Ripon, whose famous cathedral dates back to the 7th Century.

Bedrooms

Our handmade (in Yorkshire) double bed is made up with crisp luxury white bed linen, there is plenty of room for a travel cot (which we can loan you).

 
Bathroom
The bathroom is brand new, cozy and with stunning detail. There is a shower enclosure, wc, basin & Burlington taps, rustic cabinet and beautiful oak shelving.

Our towels are huge fluffy white bath sheets and our bathroom products are from The Bath House Shop in Cumbria.
 
Ground Floor
Our ground floor is stone and underfloor heated throughout, the living room has a toasty electric wood effect stove and a cosy sofa for two sits in front of the fire - essential for a snooze after a long day. There is a large smart TV for those rainy days. The kitchen is a countryside haven of cream and a vintage dining table and chairs are placed near the fire patio doors lead onto the garden with the most stunning handwoven willow fencing.
 
Outside

On a farmstead, the more common noise to hear is silence, the water feature on the pond, owls, birds, ducks but also 2 rather loud adopted donkeys, cows mooing or the occasional bark from a dog. Here you will have peace and quiet but also the sounds of animals and nature.

We have enclosed fields for your dogs to run free, we will advise which one to use on your arrival (depending on where the sheep are at that point).

The garden is paved with stone, enclosed with willow fencing, there is a BBQ and you have comfortable wooden seating where you can benefit from the sun all afternoon until sunset - perfect for a sun downer but also a coffee with the Sunday papers. There is a private beautiful wooden outbuilding with a hot tub and twinkly lights with views over the fields. You can park right outside your garden area. 
 
Welcome Hamper
On arrival you will find a welcome Hamper, with hand chosen wine (choosing was a tough job, but somebody had to do it), cheese, milk, fresh local bread, eggs and local treats for both human and our four-legged family friend.

Parking

The barn is down a long private drive, you can drive to the front door of the barn and park there, parking spaces are clearly signed. 

Transport

The 22 bus passes the front of the property, it goes to Ripon.
