Pottery Lane Barn is a  beautiful quintessentially English 3-bedroom Georgian stone barn in the grounds of an Edwardian farmstead featuring views over rural North Yorkshire. Just 3 miles from Ripon, peacefully tucked away down country lanes, Pottery Lane Barn has been immaculately renovated in 2023 to a luxurious standard, paying respect to original features like the barn A frame beams and decorated throughout in subtle ‘Little Greene’ colours. The stone heated flooring, a wood burning fire and a deep bath all add to the cosy charm along with the most sumptuous beds, ensuring you will enjoy a perfect Yorkshire Sunday lie in. The barn has its own garden within our farmstead of 15 acres and has a stunning oak gazebo with a 5 person hot tub and of course twinkly lights.

We are located in-between the villages of Bishop Monkton & Littlethorpe, just minutes from the city of Ripon, whose famous cathedral dates back to the 7th Century.

Bedrooms
All bedrooms have beds made up with crisp luxury white bed linen, the larger of the bedrooms has a huge ancient oak king size bed. The double bedroom is on a second floor private mezzanine  and the 3rd bedroom has a single bed with a pull out trundle bed for younger children.
 
Bathroom

There is a huge walk in shower with natural stone, separated by frosted glass from the WC in this large ensuite bathroom,  a huge sink and high ceilings make this feel so spacious but the underfloor heating helps stay toasty warm.  

The second bathroom has a separate shower enclosure, a large roll top bath to relax in after a long day’s walking, Burlington finishes and multiple stunning small barn windows. 

Our towels are huge fluffy white bath sheets and our bathroom products (hand soap & lotion, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion) even the bath bubbles to soak those tired feet in, are from The scrumptious Bath House Shop in Cumbria.

Ground Floor
Our ground floor is stone and underfloor heated throughout, the living room has a cozy wood burning stove, huge oak barn doors onto the garden with the most stunning handwoven willow fencing. Cosy sofas surround the wood burning stove - essential for a snooze by the fire and there is a large smart TV for those rainy days. The kitchen was totally renovated in 2023, a countryside haven of Dove grey with brass handmade handles and drawer pulls hand made locally in Co Durham and a vintage dining table and chairs near the fire. 
 
Outside

On a farmstead, the more common noise to hear is silence, the water feature on the pond, owls, birds, ducks but also 2 rather loud adopted donkeys, cows mooing or the occasional bark from a dog. Here you will have peace and quiet but also the sounds of animals and nature.

We have enclosed fields for your dogs to run free, we will advise which one to use on your arrival (depending on where the sheep are at that point).

The garden is paved with stone, fenced and enclosed and there is a BBQ, you have comfortable wooden seating, where you can benefit from the sun all  afternoon until sunset - perfect for a sun downer or a coffee with the Sunday papers. There is also a gazebo with a hot tub and twinkly lights. You can park right outside your garden area and there is access to unlimited wood for your fire.

Welcome Hamper

On arrival you will find a welcome Hamper, with hand chosen wine (choosing was a tough job, but somebody had to do it), cheese, milk, fresh local bread, eggs and local treats for both human and our four-legged family friend.

Parking

The barn is down a long private drive, you can drive to the front door of the barn and park there, parking spaces are clearly signed. 

Transport

The 22 bus passes the front of the property, it goes to Ripon.
